According to the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry rules, real estate brokers are generally prohibited from calling numbers listed on the DNC registry to solicit business for selling or buying a home. It doesn’t matter if you get the phone number off Paragon, your own contacts, or from a third party vendor.
Unless you’ve had a real estate transaction with that person within the past 18 months (or with their written consent), brokers cannot cold-call people on the Do Not Call list to try and list their property for sale.
PROTECT YOURSELF BY CHECKING THE DNC BEFORE MAKING CALLS. To reduce the risk of lawsuits as a result of complaints by homeowners, you can look up any number on the National Do Not Call Registry, and don’t call those numbers.
PS. This article refers to National regulations, and is just one part of normal due diligence, which also requires you check Paragon to make sure the property isn’t already relisted with another brokerage.
